Screen Sage is a Chrome extension and website operated by TACTAG ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Screen Sage extension and screensage.app, and what we do with it.
The short version
- Images and screen captures you mark up are processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- If you sign in, we store your Google name, email address, profile picture, and plan status.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
What the extension does with your screen
When you choose Annotate this image or capture a screen area, the extension reads that image or the visible part of the tab so you can edit it. The picture is kept in your browser's local storage for up to 24 hours so a reloaded editor tab still works, then deleted. It is not sent to us or anyone else. Copying puts the finished picture on your clipboard; saving writes a file to your computer.
PDFs you open in the editor are read in your browser in the same way and are not uploaded.
What we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and a Google account ID. We use them to identify your account, show your plan, and contact you about billing or support.
Plan and billing records
We store your trial end date and, if you subscribe, your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, billing period, and renewal date. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under the Stripe privacy policy.
Sign-in sessions
We set one cookie on screensage.app to keep you signed in, and the extension keeps a sign-in token in its local storage. Both can be ended by signing out.
Messages you send us
If you use the support form or the feedback form shown after uninstalling, we store what you write and the email you give us.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records basic request logs, such as IP address, time, and page requested, to keep the service running and secure. These are kept for a limited time.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your browsing history, the contents of pages you visit, or the images you mark up. The extension contacts screensage.app only to sign you in and check your plan.
Who we share data with
- Google, to sign you in.
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Railway, which hosts our servers and database.
We share information with others only if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account while it's active. To delete your account and everything we store about you, email support@screensage.app from the address you signed in with. We delete it within 30 days, except billing records we must keep for tax purposes.
Children
Screen Sage is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Chrome Web Store limited use
Screen Sage's use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the features you see, and is never sold, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell signed-in users by email before the change takes effect.
